NASCAR kicks off annual Race to Green initiative

March 28, 2014--Celebrating the sport's commitment to protecting and preserving the environment, NASCAR today officially kicked off its second annual NASCAR Race to Green initiative at Martinsville Speedway. NASCAR is sports' sustainability leader and this effort is intended to build awareness around the programs the sanctioning body, industry, and a wide range of partners have in place to help reduce the sport's carbon footprint.

NRDC Releases Guide to Composting at Sports Venues
March 25, 2014--According to the U.S. EPA, “More food [waste] reaches landfills and incinerators than any other single material in municipal solid waste….In 2011 alone, more than 36 million tons of food waste was generated, with only four percent diverted from landfills and incinerators for composting.”
